Great job! These are all great tools!

I use the Fretboard Quizz a lot. Some of my basses are not in standard tuning, and it would be awesome if one could test his knowledge of the neck, under different tunings. Would it be difficult to implement the possibility to punch in a note for each string? or have a scroll down menu which one could select tunings from?

Thanks again,

Hugo

Hi! this page is very useful. What i like the most is the quiz II, its the only one ive found to match guitar notes and staff notes, two things at once and it has been very helpful. I also liked the fretboard quiz but it seems to have an error, at least in my computer I cant play twice because the game stops playing after I press the "try again button" so hope you read this message and fix the problem, thanks very much!

Hello, a very cool program to conquer the fretboard! Grouping chords by tonality is what I am trying as the next step in my studies. Just commenting a wish, I am left handed and would like the posibility to see the fretboard upside down, the low E on top, the high E at bottom and 0 fret on the rigth!

Congratularions and thanks a lot for generously sharing your creation with us guitar students. Bye.

Actually here is an idea - what if, instead of making a whole bunch of individual on-screen fretboards, there was an editor in the printing section that allowed you to compose a printable sheet with selected boards from your "boards" list. That would be a quick way to set up and print sheets for various uses. It would also allow more than one fretboard per printed page of whatever content is desired.

Ive been scouring the net for days on end to find something like this. For me its just a great practise and analysis tool and Im gonna integrate it into my teaching a.s.a.p. As someone said you are a great guy for sharing. Very very cool and useful programme. saves me no end of actual physical practise time.

As for suggestions how about making more than one fretboard available? Putting different ideas on individual fretboards but on the same piece of paper would allow for easier visual comparisons when dealing with multiple scales and arpeggios and scale/chord relations

just my 2 db ;0)

I agree with someone down there that it would be great if correct guesses would dissapear!

hey! 04-09-2009 12:13:53
Its a wonderfull tool youve got there. Ive always wanted to learn my freatboard notes but was always to lazy to study them. Really great!

I was wondering.. could you make the quizes and printer into an exe file? i would like to use this in my room computer, but theres no internet there :(

would be great if you could download them!

cheers

Thank You for the fretboard quiz. I use it every day, working my way down the bass fret board. It is exactly what I wanted to test myself.

Id like to confirm as well that I am getting a black background while printing. This is using the Firefox browser under windows xp with a black and white laser printer. I used the print button on your page. All printing from other webpages and applications works fine.

It also gives me the black background when I use a PDF creator (which acts like a printer driver) to generate a pdf from your print button.

Thank you for creating this game. I always wanted a way to test myself as I try to memorize the fret boards.

This game is exactly what I was looking for.

Cheers

Thank you Ron

I wouldnt like to use more ink than necessary.

I am not sure if you use your browsers printfunction or
my green printbutton, which should give a clean print.

If you get the black background, while using the green printbutton,
you are welcome to write me about your systemdetails (computer, browser, flashplayer-version, ect.)

It would be nice with several diagrams on one page .. Maybe I will build it in future versions.

This is a great tool for us teachers! Thank you for your work. One gripe I do have though, is that when printing, I get the black background. It looks nice, but isnt really necessary and use a great deal of ink! It would be nice also, to be able to print several diagrams on one page. Just some suggestions. Thanks again

Great job. Very useful.

Matt Tidswell 19-11-2008 21:38:12
Im a guitar teacher and this is great for the job!

Your a great man for sharing it - thanks!!!

klaus 26-07-2008 02:46:42
The fretboard quiz would be even more effective if the correct guesses disappeared - after 10-15 correct guesses the rest becomes pretty easy... maybe you could add an option.

Anyway: the quizes are challenging and highly addictive - keep up the good work!

Hi ! Im a retired school teacher. I play guitar for church and fun (just simple chords) I can read the treble and bass clef from vocal music training, but Ive always been too lazy to try to figure out the scales on my guitar. Looking at it this way, privately and at my own pace; it is finally clicking how it works. It is simpler than I thought. Thanks for making this available for free. It is really done well. Ill be able to do beginning guitar lessons soon for those that have asked me! Yea!

Hi!
Thanks for this usefull tool!
It would be great to have the possibility to make 7 string diagrams also.
And the possibility to print just dots, without the names of the notes.
Otherwise, great work!

6/7 Not bad like this method

Peter,
Thanks for your work on this. I love it! Very useful with students in mind. Thanks again.

Peter 18-02-2007 20:46:16
Sure Rich
Try it again :-)

I have also included a feature where all of one note could be colored automatically.
eg. color all As in one click

Rich 16-02-2007 20:31:15
This is fun, great job! Thanks, but could you make it any bigger when I go to print it it is very small even when I enlarge it to 200% it does not print any larger?

Peter 09-02-2007 20:49:30
Hi
